Prison Theatre
Prison Theatre projects work with groups of offenders to develop theatre skills and performances that engage participants to work towards developing community-based arts and social justice. A range of performance practices explore the ways in which arts practitioners and imprisoned people use theatre as a means to build communities, attain professional skills, create social change, and maintain hope. These projects strive towards social re-integration of offenders through enhancing social skills, personal reflection, active citizenship and generating community-based arts projects.
